DARTMOUTH Town Council is expected to finally make a decision on the transfer of assets from the district council at its meeting tonight.
A cash deal from South Hams Council of £130,000 in the first year - phased down to zero over five years – to help run the land and buildings was turned down by town councillors.
But now the district authority is believed to have upped the offer to £150,000 if the town council takes over the responsibility for such areas as Coronation Park, Royal Avenue Gardens and public toilets.
Members will discuss the item in private after the main body of business at the Guildhall.
The meeting starts at 7pm and will begin with a presentation by Amanda Lumley, executive lead for Mayflower 400.
