Martin Davis, of Flora Place, West Alvington, writes: I have followed with great interest the many letters of objection and support to the proposed Woodland Retreat, Slapton. Please do not support this project and potentially open the floodgates for other developers and developments in the South Hams, such as further holiday resorts, housing projects, incinerators, wind farms and solar farms. If this project goes ahead, it will contravene planning policies: that being DP13 which prohibits new or the further expansion of holiday complexes in this area; and statute CS9 which protects defines undeveloped coastal areas, of which this is one of three in the South Hams. As a permanent resident of the South Hams, I have complete faith in the district council to continue with the observation and adherence to such policies, as those quoted above, which were put in place to protect our country's heritage. Shame on us when the day comes that out of every window all we can see is a brick wall.
