Regarding Katherine Harrod's letter in last week's paper, complaining that the council never washes road signs, may I suggest she gets a bucket and sponge and does them herself.
Councils are so stretched for funds that there is no way they can afford to do it anymore and would Katherine like to feel she has taken money away from an important area like caring for the elderly?
We, here in our village, wash our own signs and we are lucky enough to have a gentleman who painted both the entry signs each end of the village as they were in such a dire state that no one could read the wording.
If everyone pulled their weight and got on with it themselves, wouldn't life be better?
