Dartmouth Academy’s motto – ‘Be Your Best Self’ – has been immortalised in paint.

A range of age groups have been working on graffiti-style murals at the school depicting the motto with Exeter-based artist Adam Loustan-Lalanne, sponsored by The Arts Society Dartmouth and Kingswear.

Nicola Perrott, associate principal and head of art and design, said: “‘Be Your Best Self’ is a motto that’s proudly owned by our students. We couldn’t have done this without the generous support of the Arts Society and we’re very grateful to them. Adam has been brilliant with our students."

Year nine student Edan said: “I’ve really enjoyed blending colours to create the view of a sunset from our site."

Zoe, also in year nine, added: “This has been really good fun, it looks amazing."

Adam will be returning to complete the series but the Academy is hoping to raise some funds to create a much larger piece of work.
