Les Jefferies, of Willow Lane, Cornworthy, writes: Further to the kind words in his letter from Joppy Pillar president of Dartmouth Hockey Club, it just goes to show when asked what the community can do within Dartmouth. It was a shame that more news about the event was not covered within the paper itself when over 500 people attended both nights. It was great pleasure in raising £6,000 for Dartmouth RFC and £830 for the Dartmouth Lifeboat which has now been passed on to Rob Clements. We will certainly make this Dartmouth RFC annual black tie ball every year and hopefully more people will see what a tremendous night it is. A big thank you must go out to all the sponsors and people such as Paul Barclay, Smith St deli, Dart to Mouth, Dartmouth Wine Company who all provided auction lots that helped the night go with a bang! Next year will be as big if not better.
