Following their solar installation, last September, the owners of family-run business Fragrant Finds are enjoying substantial savings from the free energy generated by their array, installed by local specialists Mole Energy. Based in Kingsbridge the scented soap company designs and produces sea and countryside-inspired products and gifts, from soaps to diffusers.

In September 2023, the Mole Energy team installed their state-of-the-art solar system featuring Trina 425kW black panels. And despite facing six months of typical British weather, their solar system consistently continued generating free energy for them.

Fragrant Finds owner André Doré has been impressed and encouraged by how the system began generating energy savings from day one. “We’ve already saved £6,000 on our energy bills and if this level of saving continues, the system will have paid for itself in three years”. Its performance, even over the wettest winter months, means his business can rely on clean, free, renewable energy all year round.

André is now considering battery storage. The soap boilers run overnight, ready for production in the morning, so there is further potential for generating, saving and storing energy for use overnight, allowing for additional efficiencies and further savings.

André said: “Mole Energy delivered a first-class service from the very beginning. From the initial survey, where everything was explained clearly, through to bespoke design and a quality installation which was delivered professionally with good support. I am happy with the team and the entire process from start to finish.”

Mole Energy, based in Ashprington, Totnes, is the renewable energy division of Mole Valley Farmers. They install bespoke solar PV and battery storage systems, nationwide for businesses and across the Southwest for homes.
