SJ Dowden, of Rectory Lane, Stoke Fleming, writes: It's very disappointing to see that the proposed changes to the bus services in Devon comprise entirely of cuts. No thought whatsoever has been given to any improvement that may contribute to bus service running costs. The number 94 runs between Holbeton via Noss Mayo and is just one bus route serving smaller villages that continues all the way into Plymouth, duplicating the number 93. Why not just have a more frequent service from and to outlying villages to connect with the number 93 and just have one bus running all the way in and out of Plymouth via the railway station? Another improvement would be timing the number 93 to connect with the X64 at Dartmouth, without a significant wait in either direction, so a service from the villages between Kingsbridge and Dartmouth onto Totnes could be achieved and link Totnes to the south coast beaches. These improvements, which should be a saving in themselves, would serve to improve the bus service and increase revenue.
