Returning to a holiday destination par excellence, it was regatta week in Dartmouth.
Once again, everyone concerned with the arrangements to ensure that everyone had enjoyment and lasting memories ticked all of the boxes.
At the end of the regatta, we wondered how on earth, even an army, could clear all of the litter and rubbish left by visitors. Mountains which would surely take the most competent a week to clear.
Yet there I was on Sunday morning, taking the dog for his 7am walk and there were a posse of men beavering away, having almost dispersed of the aforesaid rubbish.
How they did it in such a efficient and short space of time is nothing sort of miraculous.
South Hams District Council did at last provide help to this magnificent town.
Thanks to everyone involved in bringing so much joy to all those who value this little piece of Devon heaven.
We shall return, many many times.
