Dangerous Dads will be running their next event, “snakes, smugglers and seaweed” at Ayrmer Cove, near Ringmore on Sunday.

Spend the day at the beach with experts to spot reptiles, learn about what lives in our rock-pools, and find out about seaweeds and coastal flora. This event is in partnership with South Devon AONB. Expert Guy Baker, from The Marine Biological Association, will lead this event alongside Forest School leader and Dangerous Dads co-ordinator, Ian Blackwell.

Guy Baker said: “This is a Dangerous Dads event but this time we are inviting everyone of all ages to come along.

“People will be collecting some hedgerow spring greens to add to our soup on the beach, as well as exploring rock-pools and learning about the amazing variety of life close to the shore.

“This is also a great event to spot adders and lizards basking in the sun, and seals and porpoises have been seen on this walk in previous years.

“We would ask people to wear appropriate clothing, and to bring a packed lunch and a drink.

“The walk to the beach is about one mile down a green lane - this is an easy walk and accessible with a buggy if people have young children but not for a wheelchair unfortunately.

“Booking is advisable.”
