People have asked me how I came to my firm belief that we should leave the European Union.  The answer is that I worked in Brussels for about six years, in that time working for the European Commission, its satellite bodies, and for large companies working with the EC.

Since I was able to see the workings of the system from the inside, I have never had the slightest doubt that Britain should leave the EU at the earliest opportunity. 

For this reason, and from a desire that my children and grandchildren should live in a self-governing democracy, I will be voting Leave next Thursday.
