Howard O'Keeffe, chairman of Dartmouth and District Food Bank, Ivy Lane, Dart­mouth, writes: Thank you for your coverage in last week's Chronicle of our recent annual general meeting. As chairman, I would like to add my thanks to Dawn Shepherd for all she has done in setting up and running the Dartmouth and District Food Bank. We will continue to maintain the essential service we provide but we will miss Dawn enormously. I should like to emphasise that we help a large number of people who are referred to us, and our funds come from donations, fundraising events and grants we apply for – but we rely on public support and always need more. Every penny and every food item donated is carefully accounted for – and put to good use. We could really use some more help and I would be pleased if anyone prepared to help could contact us. We cannot see any change in the foreseeable future that will mean our services will cease to be needed, so we look forward to another year where we continue to help those who need us.
