Join Harbour House for a day of celebrating the creativity in our local community.

To finish the Community Programme Exhibition, ‘The Bird and the Rhino’ there will be a closing event with an afternoon of performances and workshops in the gallery.

‘The Bird and the Rhino’ is an exhibition that displays works by local community groups and artists. The exhibition is about the close relationship between artists and community groups in art projects at Harbour House. In these projects, artists and community members work together to make art. Everyone shares their ideas and interests, which helps create fun activities for the group. It’s like a circle of creativity where both the artists and community members learn from each other. Just like the birds and rhinos, working together in art helps everyone by sharing new ideas, imagination and teamwork.

The events are being held on February 22 2025. (Harbour House )

Drop into the gallery to have a go at designing and printing your own greetings card. Llyr Davies will be showing us how to print using a watercolour monotype technique. This is a simple and engaging process similar to painting. There is absolutely no prior experience or booking necessary! This will be an informal and mindful session that you can take at your own pace.

Please note that under 12s should be accompanied by an adult.

If there is anything you would like to tell us about yourself or any access needs you may have that would make your participation safer and more enjoyable, please do let us know at [email protected] at least a week before the event.

Workshops at Harbour House. (Harbour House )

Join us and Far Flung for a ghostly wintertide performance in the gallery to celebrate the end of community art exhibition The Bird and the Rhino. This is a rescheduled outcome of the Shipwreck Sculpture workshop in November.

In this workshop Harbour House invited participants to work with artist Llyr Davies and inclusive dance company Far Flung to produce wicker and papier maché sculptures inspired by shipwrecks and Davies’ exhibition Wreck. The performance will be movement based and utilise the sculptures made in the workshop.

If you would like to be involved in the performance and take part, please get in touch with Harbour House.

All workshops and events are FREE and open to everyone!
