Free festive activities from Harbour House at Kingsbridge Celebrates Christmas

Harbour House is partnering with Kingsbridge Celebrates Christmas again, for a day of FREE festive making and movement activities open to all.

Harbour House is delighted to be delivering multiple workshops for the most festive day in the Kingsbridge calendar, as part of their continued partnership with Kingsbridge Celebrates Christmas. Harbour House is offering free making and movement workshops and events across the day, which are free and open to aII.

In the morning there will be a performance from 10:15am, just after Father Christmas arrives in the Town Square; which is an outcome of the Shipwreck Sculpture workshop in November. In this workshop Harbour House invited participants to work with artist Llyr Davies and inclusive dance company Far Flung, to produce papier maché head pieces/sculptures inspired by shipwrecks and Davies' paintings in the gallery. The performance will be movement based and performed by the participants wearing the sculptural head pieces.

The gallery will be open from 10am, with Llyr Davies’ painting exhibition Wreck. The exhibition brings together new artworks inspired by the take of ‘The Wreckers’ and the many wrecks around the South Devon coastline. From 11am there will be a FREE drop-in Christmas card printing workshop with the artist himself. This will be an opportunity to create and takeaway christmas cards using a printing technique called monotype, which involves painting water colours onto perspex. We will also have our FREE postcard making station open in the gallery throughout the day, where visitors can draw a picture of a shipwreck, inspired by the paintings in the gallery on our specially printed postcards.

In the evening Harbour House will be hosting another Silent Disco in the Gallery with a festive twist. The event will be family friendly, with playlists produced by KDJ Collective and the Harbour House Team.

All the events hosted by Harbour House as part of Kingsbridge Celebrates Christmas are free, open to all and there is no need to book!

There will be free festive refreshments in the gallery for participants, and Harbour House kitchen will be open late for the special occasion.
