DARTMOUTH AFC secured an eight victory of this Devon Football League campaign when Newtown 1st XI came to town.

Kye Graham opened the scoring at Longcross before Billy Turl netted an equaliser for the visitors prior to the break.

Darts goalkeeper Joe Moroney saved a penalty to keep the score at one apiece and then Sam Hext converted from a tight angle to win the game for Robbie Bowker’s men.

There were only three DFL fixtures this weekend owing to county cup action, Dartmouth moving further away from ninth-placed Elmore in the standings whilst Thorverton followed them up, beating rock-bottom Ipplepen Athletic 3-0.

Dartmouth, sitting in seventh, will visit Topsham Town on the 21st, the team ahead of them in the table with both on 26 points.

Not only will this be their final fixture before Christmas but this will also see out the schedule for 2024, kicking off the new year against Alphington on the 4th.
