Petroc 1 League
Dartmouth 3,
ISCA fourths 5
A classic game of two halves saw Dartmouth edging the first half and then undoing all their hard work in the second.
A much-improved performance on last week started with a more solid and direct approach which quickly reaped reward as Di Bradley put the home side ahead after a few minutes following a lovely return cross from Lucy Pillar.
ISCA hit back though, forcing numerous short corners and levelled soon after.
A much stronger Dartmouth midfield pushed up field and Siobhan Edwards snapped on a free hit quickly outside the D, drove the ball in and cracked home while the defence were still aligning.
Hannah Pillar then made it three as she picked off a shot following a Di Bradley hit at goal. ISCA lifted their game and scored again to make it 3-2 at the interval.
The second half started with promise, but that quickly faded as ISCA proceeded to dominate and cut off any Dartmouth pass going, which stifled any attempt to get an attack in place.
ISCA attacked hard and two quick goals were tough on the home side.
Darts player of the match, goalie Ellie Malley, was sterling in her attempts to clear numerous shots on goal, but her defence were not so sharp in their own clearances, which just left them under pressure and conceding further to finish the game 3-5.
A better platform to build on was the verdict from the coaching team, who face another tough week ahead with an away fixture at Exeter University.
