As usual this time of the year, it is Dartmouth Regatta time and of course it is Dartmouth Bowling Club who held their regatta bowls drive on Friday, August 31.
The winner this year was Janet Hutchins from Torbay Country Club, second place went to Dartmouth's captain Roland Swinden and third place went to Maureen Bartley from Kingsbridge Park.
On September 2 and 3, they held the club's finals.
In the ladies championship the winner was Jean Townsend and the runner-up was Sheila Joy.
In the ladies handicap the winner again was Jean Townsend and again the runner-up was Sheila Joy. In the ladies' two wood again the winner was Jean Townsend but this time the runner-up was Ann Greenwood.
Jean also won the ladies pairs with her partner Sonia Keep, with the runner-up being Sheila Joy and Janice Varnum. In the men's section, the Club Championship went the way of David Sherlock with the runner-up being Matt Moysey, the men's handicap was won by Roland Swinden, with the runner-up being Mike Durston.
The men's two wood singles was won by David Sherlock with the runner-up being Roland Swinden.
In the men's pairs, this was won by John Bowden and Matt Moysey from Martyn Greenland and Martyn Nutt.
The mixed three wood was won by Mike Durston with the runner-up being Roland Swinden.
The mixed pairs was won by Gail Etheridge and David Sherlock from Sheila Joy and Stan Ivey, and the mixed triples were won by skip Peter Hannaford, Matt Moysey and Janice Varnum from skip Jean Townsend, Martyn Greenland and Thomas Moysey.
Finally, the novices competition was won by Thomas Moysey, who beat his brother Matt.
