DARTMOUTH RFC fought back from 12-0 down in the first half to beat Plymouth Argaum 25-19 in the basement battle at Roborough Down.
It was Dartmouth’s second league win on the spin and moved them nine points and three places clear of the drop spots in Devon One.
They ended a five-match wait for a win with a 34-29 home success over South Molton the week prior. Beating Molton, another side in the relegation frame, moved Dartmouth three places and five points clear of the drop spots and following this up with a win over Argaum has done them another devour.
Ollie Smart, Jack Gordon, Karl Caunter, Lewis Sharam and Richard Lobb all crossed the white line for Dartmouth against South Molton with Gordon and Lobb also kicking points too.
Back to the latest game though and Argaum were 12-5 up thanks to a penalty try and one from Karl Sullivan. But the home side picked up a yellow card and Dartmouth took advantage of the extra man to score a converted try and then kick a penalty to go 15-12 ahead.
Dartmouth were better in the second half and they once again took advantage of a yellow card to kick a penalty and score another try to go 25-12 in front.
Argaum did keep going and they scored a converted try under the posts courtesy of Tom Mann at the end to pick up a bonus point.
The aforementioned duo of Karl Caunter and Lewis Sharam came to the fore once again, the former scoring twice with Sharam adding a third. Kieron Wells landed two conversions and both penalties.
Dartmouth 1st XV have no game this Saturday with only three games left this season, as they look to move further away from the drop-zone.
