DARTMOUTH have the chance to ease their relegation fears when they pay a visit to Tamar Saracens.

The Riversiders are already nine points ahead of second-bottom Exmouth Quins, which ought to be enough to keep them safe.

There is always the danger of a third club being dragged into the relegation mix due to the knock-on effect of relegations from higher divisions. That could happen if Bideford and Tavistock drop down from Western Counties West.

Saracens are the team currently third from bottom – and they are only three points behind Dartmouth.

Winning at Ernesettle Lane won’t guarantee Dartmouth’s survival but will make it tougher for Saracens to overhaul them in the last three games.

Meanwhile, the match of the day in South West Two West on Saturday is at Bitton Park where old rivals Teignmouth and Newton Abbot square-up in what looks like a relegation decider.

Newton Abbot and Truro currently share joint billing in the bottom two on 23 points with Teignmouth (26pts) immediately ahead of them.

Two of those three teams are almost certain to be relegated – depending on any cascade effects from divisions above – although Wellington (31) are not out of danger yet.

As Newton Abbot’s run-in includes champs elect Topsham and Tiverton (3rd), they need to maximise their chances against Teignmouth and North Petherton in their other games.

Teignmouth finish with Wadebridge Camels (A), Okehampton (H) and Winscombe (A) on the last day. It is a marginally easier run-in, but not by much.

Truro against Wellington in the next round of fixtures will also have an influence on relegation issues.

Teignmouth ran-out 24-7 winners when the teams met at Rackerhayes back in November.

Lastly, NEW Cross, second in Devon Two North & East, are at home to Tiverton 2nd XV with the former likely to miss out on promotion again.
