DARTMOUTH AFC exited the Devon Football League Cup by the narrowest of margins on Saturday, March 8.
They were locked together with Ottery St Mary at 0-0 at the break and then at 1-1 after 90 minutes.
The game went to a penalty shootout with Dartmouth losing 6-5. Charlie Stevens scored the host’s goal late on before Ottery struck back even later, courtesy of Cholwe Hachipuka.
Elsewhere in the cup, Ipplepen Athletic were only just beaten as well, losing 1-0 at home to the Devon Football League leaders Alphington. It wasn’t quite as close between Appledore and Plymouth Marjon with the former booking their spot in the next round with an emphatic 6-1 win.
Moving forward now and Robbie Bowker’s Dartmouth return to league action with a big game, as they visit the aforementioned Alphington with hopes of inflicting just a third defeat of the campaign on the high-flyers.
