PERHAPS unsurprisingly, given the torrid weather conditions, not a single ball was kicked in the Devon Football League this weekend.

Dartmouth AFC were scheduled to visit Ipplepen Athletic at Moor Road but like the rest of the fixtures in their division, this one fell foul of the storm.

Whilst that game will be re-scheduled for later in the season, Robbie Bowker’s team have a weekend off now anyway and so it won’t be until Saturday, November 7 that they return to action.

On that day, Dartmouth will travel to Thorverton FC, the team currently sat directly below them in the standings.

The Darts are in sixth following an impressive run of form, having won seven, drawn two and lost six, for a running total of 23 points. Thorverton are a single point behind and could well overtake Dartmouth if they avoid defeat in their game in hand on Saturday, when Budleigh Salterton come to town.
