AFTER a goalless first half, Dartmouth AFC were beaten at Longcross in the Devon Football League on Saturday, January 11.
A very young Elmore AFC were the visitors and a goal and an assist from Cody Stansfield made the difference for the team from Tiverton.
Rob Farkins scored late on for the hosts to half the deficit but it served merely as a consolation, with the final whistle blowing at 2-1.
This is a seventh defeat of the season for Robbie Bowker’s men, leaving them in eighth in the DFL, Elmore now two points behind them in ninth with a game in hand.
Looking ahead now and next up for Dartmouth is a trip to Bere Alston United, a club struggling at the wrong end of the table.
Bere Alston are 15th out of 16 teams, boasting a record of 2-3-11 with only Ipplepen Athletic below them, so Dartmouth will be confident of bouncing back on the 18th.
